Day 3 of our vacation, we decided to go down The Pacific Coast Highway, Highway 101 along the Oregon Coast. It was a beautiful day, full of many beautiful sights and hundreds of pictures. Here are just a few of the pictures that caught our eye and kept us in awe.
The Lewis and Clark Bridge, Columbia River, Longview, WA crossing over into Oregon. Huge ships and barges come to port under this bridge.

Coast Guard on the Columbia River outside of Astoria, Oregon

I love this large anchor outside of the Maritime Museum in Astoria, Oregon

The
Tillamook Cheese Factory-inside you could watch the people working, have samples of cheese, buy ice cream and a whole lot more! It sure is a busy place with the workers and tourist.

Looking down into the factory. The large blocks of cheese are 40 lbs blocks and are cut into 1lb blocks.

The 1 lb blocks are in wrap getting ready to seal the wrap

40 lb block of cheese
Yaquina Head Lighthouse , Newport, Oregon.

Done on the beach down from the lighthouse. There was actually no sand, but black rocks with a lot of marine life in the rocks.

I love the water splashing onto the rocks
Yaquina Head Lighthouse from down on the beach.

This couple where on the beach at
Yaquina Head Lighthouse, one was painting the ocean and the other was painting the lighthouse.

If you look closely, you can see six seals "sunbathing" on the rocks. They have their white "tummies" showing!

Hermit Crab-I cannot believe that Mike was able to get this shot!

Barnacles on the rocks

Looking down the beach from
Yaquina Head
Lighthouse. You can see where the rocks end and the sand begin.

Further up the road, we stopped at Cannon Beach to watch the sunset. It was the most unbelievable sight I have ever seen. Absolutely gorgeous.
Sandcastles built on the beach

As the sun is swallowed into the Pacific Ocean, God paints on his canvas, which we call sky~a beautiful painting of red, orange, purples and blues. The seagulls are singing to us and the sun is swallowed....

Needle Rock-my favorite picture~
