Decorating the Tree

Man, do I miss Walker!! I bought this tree Christmas 2002, it was a pre-lit tree. Well, when we were getting ready to decorate and checked the lights, only one lower strand of lights worked. AAAUUGH. All the lights are either clipped or zipped tied to the tree. It took Mike and I over 3 hours to get all the lights off!! So, off to the store we go to get lights for the tree. It was almost 1 am before we got all of this done!!
I started decorating the tree yesterday and finished it today. I really do miss Walker when it comes to decorating the tree. She is so meticulous when it comes to decorating it! I know if she were here, at this moment she would have almost everything off the tree and redecorate it!! I have a lot more decorations that I could put on the tree, but really don't think I want to do that this year. This picture really isn't a good picture of the tree. You cannot see all the ornaments on it. We have a lot of Santa Claus ornaments and a lot of older ornaments from when we were little., including Walker's first ornament from Aunt Jacque.

This past week was my birthday and the girls at work surprised me with a sheet cake, a huge bouquet of flowers, a birthday balloon and a Christmas CD. I was truly amazed that they did that for me. The flowers are still looking wonderful today-I just had to add a little more water to them. I kept them at work, so I can enjoy them with everyone else.

One of my co-workers turned 60 today and another nurse ordered this cake for her, I loved it!! Only one bad thing, it turns your mouth black when you eat it.The balloon that Tami is carrying says "I am just here for the cake". If you look near the cake, you will see a bouquet of "dead flowers". Tami absolutely loved it, she was laughing so hard, she was crying "I'm smearing my makeup!"
